Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Feedback In

I would say I have been getting good feedback on some of my stories. Some stories have more comments than others which definitely helps there be more feedback. I would say I've had nice comments on my storybook comment wall but not that much constructive feedback to change it. So it would be helpful to get more tangible things to change. Part of the problem is definitely that I am purposely a week ahead in assignments in an effort to finish the class a little early before my capstone gets crazy. This has thrown off the feedbacks for me personally.

Feedback Out

I try to give more tangible feedback in my comments because that is something I like in mine. I would say that not all my comments are made equal. Sometimes I am more inspired than others and that really affects the quality of my comments. I try to stick somewhat to the WWW feedback strategy because I think it gives some structure to my comments.

Blog Comments

I definitely feel like I am getting to know my class from their blog intros. I really like that part of the class so I have been trying to read everyone's intro before I do the two comments on two different posts. The blogs are a really fun way to get a sense of everyone's personalities even though we never meet in real life. I think my blog does a good job of showing my personality and I am happy with it.

Looking Forward

I won't change any of my posts as I think all of that is fine but I am definitely going to try and give at least one concrete piece of advice in each of my comments. That is what I am hoping to see in comments for me so it would be good to do that on the comments from me.

I chose this picture because I do think the most important part of feedback is that it helps you grow as a writer and a person. That's why moving forward I want to make sure my comments help others grow and I try to grow from my comments.

Week 2 Story: The King and the Farmer's Daughter

In this kingdom, there also lived a king renowned for his riches and power. One day the king came to the village to collect taxes where he caught sight of the girl. Struck by her beauty, he went to her parents and demanded her hand in marriage. While her parents did not want to force their daughter into a marriage, they did not wish to enrage such a powerful king. They went to their daughter and informed her of the king’s demands. The girl asked to speak to the king herself. The next day the king met the girl at her home. Once again struck by her beauty, the king demanded, “Be my bride.” The girl responded, “My lord, I am but the daughter of a lowly farmer, I am not worthy of being your bride. My parents do not have any money to their name.” The king was so in love with her beauty he granted her all the jewels in the castle treasury. The next d...
